
The Rodin Museum was opened in 1919 in Paris. This museum is dedicated to the lifetime works of the famous French sculptor, Auguste Rodin. This museum has two sites: the Hôtel Biron and the Villa des Brillants. The awesome museum showcases about 8000 drawings, 6600 sculptures, 7000 works of art, and 8000 old photographs. The Rodin Museum is also very famous for its impressive sculpture garden. The secondary site of this museum, which is located in Meudon, keeps the wax and plaster studies of the several important works of Rodin.
Temporary Exhibits and Permanent Collections
The Musée Rodin showcase many temporary exhibits that examines the unique elements of Rodin’s works, the collaborations he had made, and the influences of his works with that of other artists. As for the permanent collections, it includes over 6000 sculptures that are made in wax, marble, plaster, bronze, and several other materials.
The Rodin Museum sculptures made of plaster are kept in Meudon, meanwhile the finished works that are made of marble and bronze are housed in Hôtel Biron. Among the collection kept in Hôtel Biron are the most cherished works of Rodin, which includes The Thinker, Fugit Amor, The Kiss, Thought, and sculptures of renowned French writer Honoré de Balzac. The museum also features 15 works of Camille Claudel, who was a student of Rodin.

The Sculpture Garden
There is also a beautiful sculpture garden here, but you will have to pay an additional ticket fee to visit it. Yet that is well worth on a warm sunny day.
This beautiful garden has an area of three hectares. This lush green garden features several monumental bronze works of Rodin along with many marble works, which date back to the Roman times. Other than these works, the garden also has many different varieties of plants and flowers, and promenades that are lined with linden trees, a café, and a restaurant.
